Trinity Killer's name changed from WALTER SIMMONS to ARTHUR MITCHELL
Sep 30 2009, 11:53 PM EDT
Did anybody else hear about this? It seems that for reasons unknown even to John Lithgow, Showtime has changed the real name of the Trinity Killer from "Walter Simmons" (a name fans have been expecting to deal with since last May) to "Arthur Mitchell". They haven't explained themselves? Why do you think they did it?My dumb theory is that both the names "Walter" and "Simmons" have been dealt with on Dexter before. "Walter" was the name of the annoying dog next door to Rita's in season one, episode four ("Let's Give the Boy a Hand"), and Simmons was the last name of the cop and wife killed by Guerro's thugs in season one, episode two ("Crocodile"). Any thoughts? 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Your thing about already having one Simmons may be right. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Here's a possible explanation of why it was changed. Weird:Okay, here's my question....how does a show with David Caruso in it get 13.5 mil? He has got to be one of the worst actors I've ever seen! CSI Miami be damned...Dexter rules way above that show. Is it just because it is on network? 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Okay, here's my question....how does a show with David Caruso in it get 13.5 mil?I never seriously watched CSI, except for a bunch of occasional random parts. I don't like it when shows don't have continuity between episodes as it is the case there. However, I'm thinking this format may help a little because people don't have to commit to the show and can easily miss a few episodes and still keep watching later on. On a serialized show it's much more dramatic to miss episodes because you lose touch with the story. The other reason may be because people are fascinated with the science and brilliance those über-investigators come up with. Even if I admit it is all theoretically possible, many of the tidbits I've seen made me laugh at how ridiculously lucky and random they can get at making assumptions, deductions and guessing out of little more than thin air and still somehow puzzle it all together in the end. It's almost like they manage to explain the origins of the universe from a shred of hair occasionally found somewhere. It may be possible, but not very realistic if you ask me. @Clairebbear: Congratulations on the interesting find with that link there about why they changed the name from Walter Simmons to Arthur Mitchell. Pretty interesting. Google can work wonders for you, can't it? I also see you're a "Heroes" fan. I am too. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"I also see you're a "Heroes" fan. I am too."Where did I say that? I've never watched Heroes so I can't really say I'm a fan - sorry... Google does come up with a lot of stuff. I do a Google search for Dexter articles at least once a day and that's one that came up the other day. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Where did I say that? I've never watched Heroes so I can't really say I'm a fan - sorry...Ooops... You never watched "Heroes"? Sorry, I thought that was where your "Claire bear" name came from. That's what Noah Bennet (played by Jack Coleman) calls his (adopted) daughter Claire (played by Hayden Panettiere) over there. I guess it must be a more common than that affectionate name. My mistake. Do you find this valuable? |
