"I think the code of harry was really designed to benifit harry, not dexter. This is a tv show, and a good one, because it makes us think. What are the moral and legal ramifications of harry's code. I real life, I would hope that a loving parent who discovered his child adopted or not, to have dexter like tendencies in his youth, would get him into proper therapy . I ponder the question of whether serial killers are made or born... the way I see it, harry manipulated dexter and someone mentioned it earlier, major league rationalization.. I can sympathize with the frustration with the law, and the justice system that lets killers walk free. this show make me think again about the death penalty and the use and non-use of it in these modern times.. If first time killers were put to death, after thier first time, we would not have serial killers... As a tv show idea, it is a good one, for it serves up justice where justice is due, as long as dexter doesn't kill doaks or lila (inocents) other wise dexter, is really taking out the garbage, and acting as judge, jury and executioner. In this country of laws, that is unacceptable, but on tv, which is fantasy, it makes a really good show. I wonder how long it will be, before "vigilante justice" (remember magnam force?) will raise it's head as some one somewhere, decides to be "Dexter" for real."
