Having never watched Dexter or even heard of the show my girlfriend got me into watching the season 2 Dvd.Very good very well written.I loved the doakes character ,in my opinion he seemed to be the only one that knew what was going on when every body else in the department had their heads up their own asses.
The interaction between him and dexter was classic.Doakes did,nt deserve to get the rap he did .I was pretty peeved when he was killed off and that every one concluded that he was the Bay Harbor Butcher when in fact Doakes was being a real cop following on his gut and knowing the score. They should bring him back in a prequel or something or maybe he did'nt die in the explosion somehow he managed to escape who knows thats in the writers hands.
I also got thru watching season 4 also again very well written Trinity what a dispicable character and what an ending to season 4.Looking forward to season 5.

Frankly I wasn't that sad to see Doakes meet his demise at the end of Season 2, given that his obsession with tracking Dexter had become just downright annoying. The suspense of waiting to see how Dexter would deal with him nearly killed me! (Oh and I cheered a little when Dexter head-butted him and sparked the fight that got him put on leave)

Seriously limited in his role so far. Stereo-typical "angry" black man. Attitude all over the place. Come on guys, ya'll can do better!!
